Behind the Design

Inspiration for this design came from the geometrical construct of a tesseract, resulting in a striking modern sculpture defined by cube-like volumes clustered around a central solid mass. Ultra-responsive to the site constraints, the residence is influenced by an informed understanding of view angles and the values of modernism. The inverted “C” shaped detail is a confident architectural statement, a strategic use of mass and void to create a defined focal point to the façade. While the residence is rigorously modern, its rich palette of materials and textures delights the senses. A sophisticated interaction of geometric form and grand linear gestures, the design creates a sense of expanded ease that belies its footprint.
