Behind the Design

This residence embodies a modern alpine character that is rooted in tradition and expressed through a contemporary lens. The front approach reveals a composition of layered gabled rooflines and vertical stone elements, creating a dynamic rhythm across the façade. Its materiality, scale, and articulation reflect both permanence and lightness, offering an architectural presence that is at once bold, welcoming, and deeply connected to its setting. A generous entry sequence is flanked by stone piers and framed by glass, immediately establishing a connection between indoors and out. Thoughtful landscaping of native plantings reinforce the home’s integration with its site, softening the scale and providing a natural transition to the surrounding environment. The rear elevation opens dramatically to the landscape. Full-height windows, sheltered terraces, and cantilevered balconies extend the living experience outward, framing sweeping views and flooding the interiors with light. The repetition of gabled volumes, combined with exposed timber detailing, creates a sense of rhythm and balance, while the strong vertical chimneys provide an anchoring counterpoint.
